Background: Six years before entering Mobius, Ayana was a member of the Uzume Corps. Underground Idol Group, studying under her friend Himari. At this point, she still had a fear of men, but it wasn't quite as severe. She became an idol in order to get over her fear. She initially had good memories with Himari and even planned on making a big debut. That all changed when after an event, Koki Tadokoro appeared and brutally attacked Himari with a metal bat. Ayana was witness to this, but was too shocked and horrified to intervene.

The attack worsened Ayana's fear of men to the point where she could no longer interact with her father or brother properly. Out of consideration for her feelings, her brother married his girlfriend earlier than planned and her father moved into a separate apartment. He often sent her letters since he couldn't speak with her directly, but Ayana couldn't find it in herself to reply to them. She eventually heard from a friend that her father had collapsed. Ayana had believed this to be her fault entirely, and eventually she encountered Mu.

When she arrived in Mobius, everyone appeared to be female to her. She lived a blissful life of ignorance like everyone else, but she felt that there was someone she needed to write back to. This served as the catalyst to her discovering the truth of Mobius and became a target to the Digiheads.

Personality: Friendly and pleasant towards girls, but very harsh and negative towards men. She's normally rather sweet, nice, and gets along well with others. She's quick to cheer people up and encourage them, and has a strong sense of will. Incredibly stubborn, once she's set her mind to something, nothing can shake her from it.

However, she also has a deep-seated fear and revulsion towards men. She's incredibly harsh in her criticism of them and won't hold back; if someone asks outright why she doesn't like guys, she has no qualms with listing every bad quality about them. " Why...? Well, they're smelly, dirty, violent, have no subtlety, are unnecessarily large, AND they manspread. They have this stupid pride and are quick to boast, they think with their dicks and not their heads, they raise the toilet seat and piss all over it..." While Aria cuts her off at this point, Ayana comments that she was actually being quite kind here and could have gone on and on, and been much more harsh.

If confronted with a male, she'll usually react to get them away from her or to get her out of the situation revolving around them, either by screaming, or through violent means. This doesn't mean she's entirely incapable of interacting and being around them, though, as there are male members of the Go-Home Club she has to interact with. She's just very short with them, reluctant, and won't go out of her way to spend time with them.

She also isn't afraid to stand her ground, tell people off when they're doing something wrong, and exact due punishment and justice on them. Even with guys, though she's fearful of them, she'll speak rudely to them or talk down to them. She mentions, to Kensuke's face, that she's alright with using him as a tool to try and get over her fear of men because he's "all bite and no bark" and rather small, so she's sure she could take him in a fight, meaning she wasn't as afraid of him (but still hated him on principal.)
